NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD

Nomination forms are being sent to downtown Brenham property owners to select candidates for the Historic Preservation Board created by the newly adopted Historic Preservation Ordinance.

As part of a revision to the ordinance that was approved by the Brenham City Council last week, property owners in the downtown historic district can vote on two of the four property owner positions on the board.  A total of seven members will serve on the board.

Owners of each property within the historic district are receiving nomination forms to choose two individual property owners within the district to the board.

All of those nominated will be included on a ballot that will be mailed to each property owner the week of September 6th.  Each property owner will then be asked to choose two representatives from the slate of nominees, to be approved by the council in October.

Nominations can be submitted to the green ballot box in the main lobby at Brenham City Hall.  They can also be mailed to Main Street Brenham; Attn: Jennifer Eckermann; P.O. Box 1059, Brenham, TX 77834.

Nomination forms must be returned to Brenham City Hall by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 3rd.
