BURTON PANTHER CROSS COUNTRY HOSTS 1ST BURTON RELAYS SATURDAY

The Burton Panthers continued their cross country season today as they hosted the 1st Annual Burton Relays in Burton, Texas. Boys races consisted of an open 1.5 mile race, big school (3A/4A) 4 x 1.5 mile relay, and small school (1A/2A) small school 4 x 1.5 mile relay. The Panthers took 3rd in the small school division with the relay of Colton Broesche, Trinity Pope, Mitchell Hensely, and Tryston Babich. Andre Ortiz took 2nd in the open race, with teammate Mason McCoy taking 5th.

The Lady Panthers scored a 1st place finish in the small school division with the team of Peyton Sigsbee, Avery Applewhite, Kara Kaye, and Ella Hensely. Samantha Angell, Karime Ortiz, and Kaylynn Vavrecka raced in the open relay, with Vavarecka finishing 8th and bringing home a medal.

Both squads continue their season September 11th with a trip to Brenham to the "Hillacious Invitational."
