TxDOT EXPECTS NEW HIGHWAY 105 BRIDGES TO OPEN IN SEPTEMBER

TxDOT expects to complete the Highway 105 bridge project between Brenham and Navasota next month.
Bob Colwell, Public Information Officer for TxDOT’s Bryan District, said TxDOT and its contractor, James Construction Group, are completing the remaining work to move traffic to the new roadway and bridges.
According to Colwell, TxDOT anticipates opening the new section of Highway 105 in the month of September, and will provide an update when an opening date is scheduled.

Colwell said in May that delays with the bridge deck overlay construction at Coles Creek pushed back the planned completion date for the project. He said at the time that once traffic is moved to the new road, crews will complete the new FM 159 tie-in and demolish the old roadway.
The $33.4 million project includes bridges over Coles Creek and the Brazos and Navasota Rivers. It began in 2014, but has been delayed several times due to weather.
