UNITY THEATRE TO OPEN 2021-22 SEASON WITH ‘BAREFOOT IN THE PARK’
A romantic comedy will soon take the stage at Unity Theatre in Brenham to mark the beginning of Unity’s 2021-22 season.
Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park will play on the Main Stage for three weekends from September 23rd through October 10th.
In Barefoot in the Park, newlyweds Corie and Paul Bratter are beginning their life together in their new apartment in Manhattan. The two are a prime example of opposites attracting, as Paul is a straight-laced lawyer and Corie a romantic free spirit. Corie decides to set her conservative widowed mother up with their eccentric, bohemian neighbor and a wild night ensues, one that highlights just how different Corie and Paul really are.
Performances will open with a preview night on Thursday, September 23rd, featuring a talk-back with the cast and crew after the show. Director Jimmy Phillips will speak before the show on Saturday, October 2nd.
Unity Theatre currently plans to present Barefoot in the Park to full audiences with no seating limits or mask requirements. Those who are not vaccinated are requested, but not required, to wear masks while inside the building. Unity follows the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and reserves the right to make changes based on current COVID-19 information.
Tickets are $27 and go on sale to the public on September 13th. Tickets to the preview performance are $19, while student tickets are $15 and any unsold seats will be $15 15 minutes before the show begins.
All subscriber reservations and special price tickets must be purchased by calling the box office at 979-830-8358, but regular tickets are available online at www.unitybrenham.org starting September 13th.
