TAYLOR NAMED TEXANS’ STARTING QB

Texans Head Coach David Cully made it official Monday, Tyrod Taylor has officially been named the starting quarterback.

The announcement was not a surprise, but Culley had declined to make it official until Monday morning.

Deshaun Watson is also on the Texans' 53-man roster but is expected to be a healthy scratch on game days. Watson, who requested a trade in January, faces 22 civil lawsuits for allegations of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior.

Rookie Davis Mills will be Taylor's backup. Houston also has quarterback Jeff Driskel, who spent the offseason with the Texans practice squad.
