The 76th Waller County Fair has begun, and new royalty has been crowned.
Kilee Smart was crowned Fair Queen at the queen’s contest Saturday, out of nine candidates who participated. Hadlee Tomcyzk was named Fair Princess and won High Ticket Sales and High Sponsor. Fair Duchess was Emma Marino, while Fourth Runner-Up was Harlie Kuhn and Fifth Runner-Up was Hanna Ulbricht.
Ashley Hill was named Miss Congeniality, while Emma Hartley was named Most Photogenic.
Activities at the fair opened Saturday with the parade through downtown Hempstead, followed by rodeo action and entertainment from Presley Phillips, Kody West and Jon Wolfe.
Events at the fair continue today (Monday) with a first responders luncheon and team roping. Livestock judging will resume tomorrow (Tuesday) with the breeding doe, market goat and lamb shows, and will continue through the week. The carnival opens Wednesday night, and the Junior Livestock and Exhibit Auction will begin at noon on Saturday.
The entertainment lineup also features TX SPECIAL and The Bellamy Brothers on Thursday, followed by The John Swat Band, the Brian Sacco Band and Gary P. Nunn on Friday. Closing out the fair on Saturday are the ‘Bout to git Western Band, Carson Jeffrey and the Read Southall Band.
