LJ’s BBQ IN BRENHAM MAKES TOP 50 BBQ JOINT LIST

  

LJs BBQ has again made the Texas Monthly list of Top 50 Texas BBQ Joints.  The restaurant, located at 1407 West Main Street in Brenham serves Texas BBQ Wednesday through Saturday from pit masters Matt Lowery and Corey Cook.  Their Facebook page says: “We are honored, humbled, and so proud to be included on this list. Thank you Texas Monthly and thank you to our amazing customers and friends who support us every day!”

To compile the list, Texas Monthly Magazine says they sent out 32 editorial staffers and 3 freelancers to 411 BBQ joints across Texas.  The most promising were again visited by BBQ editor Daniel Vaughn or food writer Patricia Sharpe.  At LJs, they commented on the mac and cheese with brisket: “Buttery in texture and color, with a truly cheesy flavor, the mac could have stood alone.” They also commented on the brisket: “The sliced brisket was also a dream, boasting a beautiful smoke ring, well-peppered bark, and melty fat.”

Also making this year’s list was Snow’s BBQ in Lexington.
