ONE KILLED, ONE FLOWN TO HOSPITAL AFTER COLLISION BETWEEN SEMI, SUV IN BURLESON CO.

  

One person was killed and another was seriously injured after a crash between an SUV and a semi Monday afternoon in Burleson County.

DPS says just after 12:15 p.m., a semi traveling northbound on FM 50 pulled out in front of an SUV driving east on Highway 21.  According to DPS, the Jeep went partially under the semi-trailer.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was flown to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan.  DPS says the two were from Caldwell, but their names have not been released pending notification of family members.

The driver of the semi, from Belton, was not injured and was cited for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign.

Investigation of the accident is ongoing.
