COUPLE ARRESTED AFTER DOMESTIC DISPUTE

  

A Brenham couple was arrested Wednesday night after a violent domestic dispute.

According to Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak, deputies responded around 10:30 p.m. to a call involving weapons in the 6400 block of Old Independence Road, near the Brenham Municipal Airport.  While en route, deputies learned that the suspect had shot out a tire on a vehicle and was leaving the scene.

Once deputies arrived, they spoke with the suspect, 32-year-old Kyle Rosenbaum of Brenham, who said his girlfriend, 36-year-old Devon Delmedico of Brenham, had been moving her personal items out of the house.  Rosenbaum told the sheriff’s office that when he got home, he found that she had bleached all of his clothes, and responded by taking her clothes outside and setting them on fire.

According to Hanak, after Delmedico found the burned clothes, she entered the home and attacked Rosenbaum.  She then went back outside and damaged the taillight on his vehicle with her cell phone.  Rosenbaum told authorities that he then began firing his shotgun.

As investigators interviewed Delmedico, she told them that Rosenbaum had grabbed her by the neck and pointed a pistol at her.  She said she was able to get away by throwing a television at him.

Both Rosenbaum and Delmedico were taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where they were charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member.

Rosenbaum was additionally charged with Deadly Conduct, and is out on bonds totaling $5,000.  Delmedico is awaiting magistration.
