VETERANS DAY PROGRAM NOV. 11 AT FIREMAN’S TRAINING CENTER

The Washington County Veterans Association will observe Veterans Day with in-person activities next Thursday.
A program will be held at 11 a.m. at the Fireman’s Training Center. All veterans will be recognized during the program, and in observance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, all first responders will also be recognized.
The featured speaker will be Brenham ISD Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin.
A drive-thru or dine-in lunch of barbecue beef and pork will be served after the program. Tickets are $15 and are available in advance only from Washington County Veterans Association members, as well as at Dan’s Meat Market, Felder’s Buy and Bye, K&M Grocery, Quick Mart and Robert’s Service Station. All proceeds will go to Washington County veterans groups.
KWHI will have a live broadcast of the program starting at 10:45 a.m. on AM 1280, FM 101.7 and kwhi.com.
Prior to the program at the Fireman’s Training Center, James F. Dillon VFW Post 7104 will host a Veterans Day breakfast. Doors will open at 6 a.m., and the meal will be served following a brief program. All veterans and their guests are invited.
