THEFT IN PROGRESS CALL LEADS TO CONFUSION

  

A theft in progress call led to a confusing episode Saturday.

Brenham Police report that at 9:05 Saturday evening, Sergeant Terrence Johnson attempted to stop a vehicle in the parking lot of a business located in the 500 block of East Blue Bell Road.  The driver was identified as being an employee of the business and was discovered to have been responding to the business due to a theft in progress. The actual suspect was stopped and identified as being Matthew Garrett Polk, 44 of Brenham, and was found to be in possession of multiple items totaling $150. He was placed under arrest and charged with Theft of Property.
