CALDWELL MAN CHARGED WITH INTOXICATION MANSLAUGHTER
A Caldwell man is being charged with intoxication manslaughter following a wreck that killed another Caldwell resident.
22 year old Blake Botkin of Caldwell is being charged with intoxication manslaughter as the result of a crash at 4:00 a.m. Friday on FM 975 just south of Caldwell. Botkin was the driver of a 2008 Dodge pickup truck involved in the accident that killed his passenger, 21 year old Victoria Pineda of Caldwell. According to DPS troopers, Botkin was headed south on FM 975 when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a utility pole. Troopers say they observed multiple signs of intoxication in Botkin, who was treated at CHI St. Joseph Burleson Hospital for minor injuries. Pineda was pronounced dead at the scene by Burleson County Justice of the Peace James Baldwin.
