CALDWELL ISD COACH KILLED IN CRASH WITH 18-WHEELER IN BRYAN

A Caldwell ISD teacher and coach was killed in an accident involving an 18-wheeler this (Friday) morning in Bryan.
29-year-old Ryan Hooper was identified as the victim of the fatal crash, which occurred at 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of West Highway 21 and West OSR.
Bryan police say an 18-wheeler failed to yield the right of way while turning left onto OSR from Highway 21 and crashed into an SUV driven by Hooper.
According to Caldwell ISD, Hooper taught 7th grade character education and coached the junior high football and high school basketball teams.
The district issued a statement saying Hooper “was a beloved teacher and coach,” and his death has “a significant impact” on the school community. Counselors will be available to meet with students in need of support.
