The Blinn College men’s basketball team fell to Region XIV foe Paris Junior College 65-60 Saturday in Paris, Texas.

The loss dropped the Buccaneers to 6-6 overall and 0-2 in region play.

Blinn led 53-47 with seven minutes left in the game, but the Dragons outscored the Bucs 18-7 the rest of the way to earn the win.

“We played well and we really fought hard,” Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher said. “Coming down the stretch, we got some shots that we liked but they just didn’t go in.

“From a coach’s standpoint, our guys did what we asked them to do. They competed and fought hard. We had a chance to win the game, we just didn’t do it at the end.”

Sophomore forward Connor Raines tallied 14 points to lead the Buccaneers. Freshman forward Tyler Washington added 13 and freshman center Alex Tsynkevich posted 12.

Blinn will return to the court for a Region XIV tilt against Bossier Parish Community College at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Kruse Center in Brenham.
