TxDOT is hosting a virtual public meeting that opens tomorrow at 3 p.m., and is seeking feedback from the public on three concepts designed to improve traffic operations and enhance safety of the intersection.
The virtual meeting will include a pre-recorded presentation from the project team with both audio and visual components. The meeting will be available online through Wednesday, December 22nd.
In July 2020, the TxDOT – Houston District held a virtual public meeting to discuss the Highway 290 widening project from FM 1371 to Highway 6. Following comments received concerning the Highway 290 – FM 1155 intersection, TxDOT’s Bryan and Houston Districts are collaborating to more closely evaluate the intersection and explore options.
The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potential displacements. Information about relocation assistance for displaced persons and businesses is available by calling 979-778-9607.
To access the virtual meeting, go online to www.txdot.gov and keyword search “US 290 at FM 1155.” The presentation will not be available on the website until tomorrow. Anyone without internet access can call Bryan District Project Manager Mark Poage at 979-778-9655 to ask questions during the project development process.
Written comments regarding the project can be submitted by mail to the TxDOT Bryan District Office, Attn: Mark Poage, P.E., 2591 North Earl Rudder Freeway, Bryan, TX 77803. Comments can also be emailed to Mark.Poage@txdot.gov. All comments must be received on or before December 22nd.
