BRENHAM MAN SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS IN PRISON

  

Today (Friday), a Brenham man was sentenced in District Court to a total of 25 years in prison for crimes that took place in 2018 and 2019.  A hearing was held in front of Judge Carson Campbell after the defendant had previously pled guilty.  Punishment was set by the Court after the presentation of evidence.

Calvin Earl Basey, Sr., 57 of Brenham, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the February 2018 offence of Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was also sentenced to 25 years in prison for the 2019 offence of Evading Arrest with a Vehicle enhanced be a Habitual Felony Offender.  The sentences are to run concurrently.
