FLOYD’S WINE LOUNGE OPENS IN DOWNTOWN BRENHAM

A new drink destination is open in downtown Brenham.
Floyd’s Wine Lounge opened its doors on November 11th at 315 South Baylor Street, in a building originally designed as a liquor warehouse 130 years ago. Co-owned by Pete and Jennifer Simpson, the lounge offers what they call a “casual but refined” wine experience with a variety of wine, beer and food selections.
Pete says he and Jennifer moved to Brenham from Houston two years ago, and saw an opportunity to add to the city’s hospitality industry.
The two say they have received very positive reception and a lot of support from the community upon opening.
In addition to the wine and beer on tap, food is provided by former Funky Art Café owner Connie Wilder, and there are also charcuterie boards available. Live music is offered on Saturdays on the patio, which offers outdoor seating.
Jennifer says downtown has exploded with new businesses since she and Pete arrived, and she hopes Floyd’s Wine Lounge can bring growth to the south side of downtown.
The wine lounge is currently in a soft-opening phase, and a grand opening is planned for Friday, February 11th. Jennifer says they plan to expand their food and drink options at that time, and may even venture into wine tastings or full-moon wine dinners. She says their 14-year-old white Lab, for which Floyd’s Wine Lounge is named, will be at the grand opening for guests to meet.
Current hours are 3 to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3 p.m. to midnight on Fridays, noon to midnight on Saturdays and 3 to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
