MULTI-AGENCY PURSUIT ENDS IN BRENHAM THURSDAY

  

A multi-agency police pursuit ended in the arrest of a Brenham man Thursday.

Brenham Police report that on Thursday, they responded to Highway 36 North in reference to a multi-agency pursuit traveling from Somerville.  The Somerville Police Department was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle originally reported out of the City of Brenham.  The driver, Tyrone Ray Scyrus Jr., 24 of Brenham, and has multiple outstanding warrants out of Washington County Court of Law. A tire-deflation device was utilized by DPS and was successful in deflating the vehicle's front tires. The pursuit continued into the city of Brenham and ended in the 1000 block of Burleson Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle striking a utility pole. The driver and occupant fled on foot and after a brief foot chase both were apprehended.

The passenger was released pending charges being filed. Tyrone Ray Scyrus Jr. was incarcerated at the Washington County Jail and is being charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and a total of seven warrants with additional charges pending. The seven warrants include:   Continuous Violence Against Family, 2 counts of Criminal Mischief, Violating a Protective Bond order, Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
