CUBETTES DROP A 46-43 HEARTBREAKER TO WALLER

The Brenham Cubette Basketball Team dropped a heartbreaker to the Waller Lady Bulldogs 46-43 last night at the Brenham High School Gym.

Prior to the game, Arianah Lewis was honored for scoring her 1,000 career point as a Cubette. Lewis is a junior and a three year starter on the varsity.

The first half was low scoring with Waller taking the first quarter 12-9, and the second quarter 9-7. Lewis got into early foul trouble, and had to spend most of the first half on the bench.

Halle Scheel scored 10 of her team high 18 points in the first half to keep the Cubettes in the game, but they still trailed 21-16 at the half.

The Lady Bulldogs also won the third quarter 14-9 to take a 35-25 lead with only one quarter to go.

Brenham battled back in the fourth quarter. Lewis scored 10 of her 12 points in that final period. The Cubettes got the ten point lead down to one point, but just when they would get close, Waller would hit a couple of shots to pull away.

The Cubettes are back in action in Friday when they travel to A&M Consolidated for a 6:30pm game.
