COUNSIL ON PRIMARY BALLOT FOR AG COMMISSIONER

A local business owner and professor is officially on the primary ballot for Texas Agriculture Commissioner.
Carey Counsil of Brenham has filed for the position and will be one of three candidates in the Republican primary, joining incumbent Sid Miller and fellow challenger James White.
Counsil is a real estate developer, a United States Air Force Veteran and teaches economics at Blinn College.

The winner of the Republican primary will face one of two Democratic candidates in the general election. Susan Hays and Ed Ireson are on the Democratic primary ballot.
