GRIMES CO. CHILD FOUND IN POND DIES
Update @ 6:10 a.m. Friday: The Grimes County Sheriff's Office says an 18-month-old child found face-down in a pond Wednesday has died. The child was flown to Texas Children's Hospital in The Woodlands, but died Thursday afternoon.
Original Story @ 12:40 p.m. Thursday: An 18-month-old child is in critical condition after being found face-down in a pond Wednesday in Grimes County.
According to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, the child’s father called 911 around 4:15 p.m., telling authorities his son snuck out of the house and was located in a nearby pond close to County Road 302 and Lakeshore Drive, west of Todd Mission.
The sheriff’s office said the father jumped into the pond and began administering CPR.
The child was airlifted to Texas Children’s Hospital in The Woodlands.
