CITY OF BRENHAM BEGINS FIRE HYDRANT AUDIT ON MONDAY
The City of Brenham Water Construction Department will start the annual audit for fire hydrants around the city this coming Monday, December 20.
The purpose of the audit is to enhance long-term water quality, identify any hydrant malfunctions, and identify any water volume or pressure issues.
The city says during the audit residents may notice a discoloration of their water. If this happens residents should open the faucets and let the water flow until it is clear and then turn off the faucets, wash dark colored clothes first when doing laundry, and check faucet screens for any trapped particles. If the issue remains, residents should contact the city of Brenham.
The hydrants will be flushed between 8 in the morning and 5 in the evening. City officials warn drivers that they could see large amount of running water in the roadways during this time. Drivers should slow down and use precaution when driving through the water.
