The court will consider an order to conform election precincts following the redistricting of the commissioners court precincts and any resulting changes that could affect the justice of the peace and constable precincts.

Commissioners on November 12th adopted a redistricting proposal for the county commissioner, justice of the peace and constable precinct lines.  At that meeting, Eric Magee with Allison, Bass & Magee, LLP said new election precinct boundaries must be submitted to the Secretary of State by December 31st.

The county-approved redistricting proposal has two changes from the current precinct lines.  One revision moves a tract near the meeting point of FM 2935 and Little Sandy Creek from Precinct 3, under Commissioner Kirk Hanath, to Precinct 1, covered by Commissioner Don Koester.  The second takes land close to where Highway 290 and Highway 36 South meet and shifts it from Precinct 2, represented by Commissioner Candice Bullock, to Precinct 4, under Commissioner Joy Fuchs.
