TEXAS A&M STUDENT-ATHLETE KILLED IN GRIMES CO. CAR ACCIDENT
A Texas A&M student-athlete was killed Saturday in a crash in Grimes County while driving home for the holiday break.

DPS says just before 11:30 a.m., a 2019 Dodge car driven by 18-year-old Chance Gibson of The Woodlands was headed east on Highway 105 near Plantersville at a speed officials considered unsafe for the roadway conditions.
According to DPS, the Dodge started to hydroplane and went into the westbound lane of Highway 105, where it struck a 2020 Nissan car head-on.
Gibson, a freshman who participated in cross country and track & field, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan, 50-year-old Ann Taylor of San Antonio, was hospitalized with incapacitating injuries at St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital.
