ST. JOSEPH HEALTH TEMPORARILY CLOSING MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY INFUSION CENTER IN COLLEGE STATION
St. Joseph Health is temporary closing the monoclonal antibody infusion center at its hospital in College Station.
According to a release from the health system, the current infusion formula is not effective in treating the Omicron variant, which St. Joseph Health officials say is currently the dominant strain in the Brazos Valley.
The statement said since Tuesday morning, all cases of COVID-19 found by St. Joseph Health laboratories “are consistent with the Omicron variant.”
St. Joseph Health said the State of Texas does not yet have an infusion formula effective against Omicron. Officials say once they receive an infusion that is effective, they will reopen the infusion center.
