NEW LEE COUNTY ORGANIZATION SUPPORTING LAW ENFORCEMENT

A new non-profit organization in Lee County is working to support local law enforcement.

The Lee County Law Enforcement Support Organization has recently applied for tax-exempt status from the IRS. The group was formed after Giddings Police Chief Bill Weems and Lee County Sheriff Casey Goetz shared their need for equipment, training, and other support with a group of citizens.

The mission of the new group is to supplement the existing law enforcement budgets by directly providing equipment, additional training, and other support. The money for this support will be raised through fundraising activities and donations.

The organization is structured so that 100% of the money raised will go toward helping support law enforcement in whatever way local law enforcement leadership sees fit.
