FRIENDSHIP QUILT GUILD OF BRENHAM TO HOLD FEBRUARY QUILT SHOW

The Friendship Quilt Guild of Brenham has begun making preparations for their biennial event.

The two-day “Hearth & Home” Quilt Show is being held February 18 from 10am-5pm and on February 19 from 10am-4pm at the Fireman’s Training Center in Brenham.

The primary goal of the guild is to make care quilts for those in need of the warmth that a quilt can provide. Proceeds from the quilt show go towards materials used for the construction of the quilts.

During the past year, the guild presented 38 Veterans with patriotic quilts as a means of thanking them for their service.

They also give out quilts to those experiencing a serious illness or other adversities, local nursing homes, and the Hospice Brazos Valley of Brenham. Other groups receiving quilts include the Brenham Fire Department for their annual August fundraiser, Camp for All, Miracle Farms, Hope Rising, and the Elks Lodge Camp for Disabled Children.

The Friendship Quilt Guild was established in 1993. Their membership includes Washington and the surrounding counties.

Tickets for the “Hearth and Home” Quilt Show are $7 for adults, while children six and under get in for free.
