One person was killed and three others were injured in a helicopter crash Thursday morning in Polk County.

DPS says a Bell 206 helicopter crashed around 11:45 a.m. on Galloway Lane near Livingston.  Preliminary investigation indicates the helicopter was flying over private property when it went down, for an unknown reason.

Three passengers were on board the helicopter, including 54-year-old Daniel King of Livingston, who was pronounced dead at the scene.  Two other passengers, 26-year-old Braydon King and 23-year-old Brocton King, also of Livingston, were transported to CHI St. Luke’s for treatment.

The pilot, 73-year-old John Martin of Montgomery, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.  The condition of the pilot and of the two surviving passengers is unknown.

The Federal Aviation Administration will conduct the investigation into the crash.
