BELLVILLE WOMAN KILLED IN NEW YEAR’S DAY SHOOTING IN HOUSTON
A woman from Bellville was shot and killed early New Year’s Day at a hookah lounge in southwest Houston.
24-year-old Italia McGregor was killed in the shooting outside the Five Nine Bar and Lounge in the 11700 block of South Wilcrest Drive shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.
Houston police say McGregor and her boyfriend were leaving the lounge when they became involved in a disturbance with a group of men, who then attacked the boyfriend. Several people intervened to break up the fight when two men pulled out handguns and fired roughly 15 to 20 rounds in multiple directions.
McGregor, a mother of three, including a two-month-old, was struck and died at the scene. The boyfriend and another man were also shot; one was treated and released from a local hospital, while the other was treated at the scene.
The two suspects were seen leaving the parking lot in a white Dodge Charger.
