CUB BASKETBALL LOSES A CLOSE ONE TO JORDAN 52-49
One bad quarter does the Cubs in

The first ever meeting between the Brenham Cubs and the Jordan Warriors did not go the way the Cubs wanted last (Tuesday) night. The Warriors won a nail-biter 52-49 at the Brenham High School Gym.
Brenham started off hot. They won the first quarter 14-12, and the second quarter 15-12. Shaun Ray scored 14 of his game high 20 points in the first half to give the Cubs a 29-24 lead going into the break.
The Warriors then proceeded to dominate the third quarter, as they outscored Brenham 15-4, to take a 39-33 lead going into the final period. The Cubs made only two field goals in that third quarter.
Brenham made a late rally in the fourth quarter, and actually tied the game at one point. Delvin Gantt came off the bench and hit a couple of three pointers. Jamey Rogers also had seven points off the bench. However, Jordan made just enough shots to take the lead back and hold on for the win.
The loss drops the Cubs to 9-15 overall and 1-4 in district. They will be at Katy Paetow on Friday night for a 6:30pm game. Paetow is coming off a 54-50 over A&M Consolidated, which put them in first place in the district with a 5-0 record. Paetow is 15-5 overall.
