The royalty for the 2022 Brenham Maifest will be revealed this weekend at the 132nd Maifest Serenade.
The announcement of the Junior and Senior Maifest courts will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Dr. Bobbie Dietrich Memorial Amphitheatre at Hohlt Park. The event will include the announcement of the themes for the 2022 courts, along with many of the activities planned for Maifest weekend.
Maifest Association President Catherine Kenjura said the success and longevity of the Brenham Maifest is thanks to the continued support of the community.
The new Maifest royalty will be announced by the 131st Junior Maifest Queen and King, Dinah Grace Sue Neil and John Paul Kenjura, and the Senior Maifest Queen and King, Clara Ashley Hamilton and Carter Houston McVean.
The program will also feature pre-recorded music from the Brenham High School band. After the event, the royalty will ride on a Brenham fire truck to a reception at Brenham National Bank. The reception is open to the public.
Registration for the Maifest opens Sunday afternoon, and is open to all youth ages 3 to 12th grade. Registration will remain open through the end of February, and can be done at https://brenhammaifest.com.
