COVID-19 CAUSES CLOSURES FOR AREA SCHOOL DISTRICTS

  

Several area school districts have announced early closures ahead of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday due to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases.

All Giddings ISD campuses will be closed today (Friday) due to “a shortage of instructional staff.”  Classes are planned to resume on Tuesday.

Sealy ISD is closing schools today and keeping them closed through Tuesday.  Students and staff will return on Wednesday.  The district’s rapid testing center will remain open today and Tuesday.

Iola ISD will release early today at noon to allow staff to deep clean.  Schools will re-open on Tuesday.
