CUB BASEBALL HONORS THE PAST AND LOOKS TO THE FUTURE

Baseball season is just around the corner and this past weekend the Brenham Baseball Alumni Association held their annual banquet to both introduce this year’s squad as well as honor the 2010 State Championship Cub Team.

Current Cub Baseball Head Coach Chase Wheaton was an assistant on the 2010 State Championship Team, he talked about what it means to have those guys come back and be an example for the 2022 version of the Cubs.

Coach Wheaton also touched on what it means to get to play baseball in Brenham and get the privilege to play in a community that holds the game in such high esteem.

As for Cub Baseball in 2022, Coach Wheaton said they should be pretty good at the plate but will need to figure out the pitching staff, something he is optimistic will come together over the next few months.

The Cubs get their season underway on February 15. You will be able to hear Cub Baseball all season long on KWHI 1280 AM and FM 101.7.
