ER UPGRADES UNDERWAY AT BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE – BRENHAM

Renovations have begun in the emergency department at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Brenham.
The $2.3 million expansion started in November and is expected to be complete by this December. The upgrades include moving from 10 patient areas to 13 private rooms, adding two fast-track rooms, creating a dedicated triage space and expanding the nurses’ station.
Blake Barnes, Vice President of Operations for the Brenham hospital, said the additions are being brought about to support a growing community.
The 5,000 square-foot renovation project is funded through the Baylor Scott & White Foundation.
Barnes said staff at Baylor Scott & White play a large part in how the project is progressing.
Barnes said whenever visitors walk into the hospital, they will see white walls put up within the lobby and in some emergency department spaces. Construction is ongoing behind the walls, which act as containment areas to avoid any impact to patients.
Barnes said since the project is being done in phases, patients will not see any interruption to the services they receive.
Great to see for Brenham and for our surrounding area and family. Love living in this rural community and appreciate BS&W taking great care of us.
