Two men were arrested Thursday night after a shot was fired outside a restaurant in Bellville.

62-year-old Charles Dean Olsen and 19-year-old Ian Neasham were charged after Bellville police responded to a shots fired call just after 7 p.m. at The Hill, at 758 West Main Street.

Police said the incident took place after a verbal and physical exchange outside of the restaurant between Olsen and Neasham and an additional third party.  Olsen, identified as the shooter, fired one round that struck the wheel or tire of Neasham’s vehicle.

According to police, Olsen had fled the scene when law enforcement arrived.  He was later found at his home in Bellville by police and DPS, and was treated for minor injuries suffered during the incident by Austin County EMS and the Bellville Medical Center.  No other injuries were reported.

Olsen was charged with Deadly Conduct, while Neasham was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

Both subjects will be booked into the Austin County Jail.

  1. What poor marksmanship ? …these are hard times but it’s remarkable how quickly little things are resulting in so much deadly conduct…we need to all focus on maybe shooting the guys who shoot at the police….not the stupid kid next door…
