A Houston man was arrested early this (Friday) morning after leading Washington County Sheriff’s deputies and Blinn College police on a high-speed pursuit.

According to Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak, deputies were notified around 12:15 a.m. of a reckless driver near Highway 290 West and Old Mill Creek Road.  Deputies were told a subject in an older model GMC Yukon was swerving over the roadway and had almost struck another vehicle twice.

Authorities pursued the vehicle at speeds in excess of 100 mph.  During the pursuit, the driver managed to turn around, traveling eastbound toward Brenham.

After deputies deployed stop sticks, the vehicle came to a stop at the intersection of Highway 290 and North Berlin Road.

Deputies and Blinn police officers removed the driver, 25-year-old Rogelio Villalobos, from the vehicle.  He has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Evading Arrest with a Vehicle.  He remains in custody at the Washington County Jail on bonds totaling $41,500.
