UPDATE – BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD WORKSHOP ON HOLD

(Update 1:00 PM Thursday)  Brenham ISD sent out an email that stated the Board Meeting has been canceled due to the poor weather conditions.  It will be rescheduled at a later date.

(Original Story)  Plans are still in place for the Brenham School Board to meet this (Thursday) evening for a workshop to further review possible recommendations from Brenham ISD’s Bond Planning Committee.

Trustees heard from the committee during their last meeting on January 18th, where they were encouraged to consider moving forward with 13 major projects adding up to nearly $154 million.  Those projects include building a new junior high school and converting the current middle school into a fourth elementary school.

Currently, the proposed junior high school would be built to accommodate students in grades 6-8.  All elementary schools would house students in Pre-K through 5th grade.

Tonight’s meeting will also include an executive session for trustees to consult with an attorney.

Weather pending, the board will meet at 6 p.m. at Brenham High School.
