BRENHAM CUBS DEFEAT BRYAN RUDDER 69-57

The Brenham Cub Basketball Team picked up a 69-57 victory over Bryan Rudder Friday night at the Brenham High School Gym.
Rudder started off the game on a 10-0 run. The Cubs fought back and tied it up 14-14 at the end of the first quarter.
The game remained nip and tuck all the way through the second quarter as Brenham outscored the Rangers 14-13 to take a 28-27 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The deciding factor ended up being the third quarter, where the Cubs outscored Rudder 24-16. In past games this season, the third quarter had been Brenham's nemesis.
The Cubs also won the final quarter over the Rangers by a 17-14 margin.
Four Brenham players reached double digits in scoring. Josiah Ferguson led the way with 15 points. Deontae Franklin chipped in with 12 points.
Shaun Ray scored 11 points, all of which came in the second half. Justin Garza also came up with ten points, eight of which were in the second half.
The Cubs improve to 12-22 overall and 4-11 in district play. They will wrap up the regular season against Magnolia on Tuesday night at 6:30pm at the Brenham High School Gym.
It is also going to be Seniors Night and Parents Night.
Katy Paetow has already clinched the District Championship. A&M Consolidated has clinched second place. Meanwhile, Jordan sits in third place, and Magnolia West is in fourth place.
