A retirement party was held Friday for a long time member of the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office.

Captain Ryan Rutledge is leaving the Sheriff’s Office after 20 years of service.

Rutledge is a native of Brenham, and a 1994 graduate of Brenham High School.

He was given a plaque honoring his 20 years of service, and a certificate of appreciation from Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell.

Rutledge’s co-workers also gave him the gift of 300 Blackout Pistol.

While, he may be leaving the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office, Rutledge is not leaving law enforcement.

The next chapter in his career is taking him to the city of Todd Mission, where he has accepted a new role as their Police Chief.
