Washington County has hired its new E-911 director and county engineer.

Robyn Hood (left) and Wesley Stolz were introduced on Tuesday as Washington County's new E-911 director and county engineer, respectively.

At today’s (Tuesday) Washington County Commissioners meeting, Robyn Hood was introduced as the new E-911 director, and Wesley Stolz was announced as the county engineer.

Hood retired from Austin Police Department Communications in 2014, traveling for several years with her family before going back to work as a communications manager in Pflugerville. She then spent a few years in Paducah, Kentucky before returning to Texas.

Hood said she is eager to help improve the E-911 department and looks forward to becoming part of Washington County.

Stolz is a Washington County native who received his professional engineering license working for a consulting firm in Dallas. He has worked for the City of Tomball since 2017.

Stolz is happy to be back home, and says infrastructure improvements are high up on his list of priorities.

Hood fills the position formerly held by Kristi Stamnes, who accepted a 911 position in Alabama in September. Stolz takes on the role previously held by Ross McCall, who left in November to join TxDOT’s Bryan District.

Also at today’s meeting, the court:

Approved a proposal from Hodde and Hodde Land Surveying for professional surveying and engineering services related to road improvements within the Pecan Glen Road District. The project is covered by proceeds from the Pecan Glen Road District bond passed in May 2021; only residents within the Pecan Glen subdivision are funding the project.
Received monthly reports from the sheriff’s office, EMS, Information Technology and the veterans service officer. Commissioners also heard the sheriff's office's 2021 Racial Profiling report.
Approved a subdivision variance request for a land division fronting Mockingbird Road in Precinct 3.
Received a formal notice from Magnolia Oil and Gas Operating for a 12-inch temporary water transfer line for six months within county right of way of Upshaw Road, Haupstrasse Road, Koether Road, Moye Road and Bascome Lane in Precinct 4.
Received a formal notice from ETC Texas Pipeline for a natural gas pipeline road bore containing an 8-inch line crossing Christian Cemetery Road in Precinct 4.
Approved annual renewal of reserve deputy sheriff bonds for Damon Wegner, Justin Knuppel, Jimmy Morgan and William Atwood at the sheriff’s office.
Approved the 2022 investment policy. County Treasurer Peggy Kramer said no changes were made to the policy.
