SPRING EGGS ART WALK TAKING ENTRY FORMS
Main Street Brenham will again bring art to the streets of downtown Brenham with the annual “Spring Eggs Art Walk”.
Professional, amateur and student artists are invited to participate in the contest by designing giant, creatively decorated eggs and placing them at various locations in downtown.
Approximately $1,450 in cash prizes will be awarded, including $200 for the Best of Show prize from Kieke Egg Farm. Prizes of $125 will also be awarded in student and professional categories for most creative, most votes, judges’ choice, best Easter theme and best seasonal theme.
Other prize sponsors are Must Be Heaven, Brenham Foundry & Floral Company, 96 West, Brown Water Cigar Bar, The Pomegranate/Fork & Crumb, Las Americas Latin Cuisine, The Canyon Chick, Hermann Furniture, Glamfetti and Tres Chic Boutique.
Entry forms are now available at the Washington County Visitor Center and online at https://downtownbrenham.com. Completed forms are due by Friday, March 4th at 5 p.m.
Participants can pick up wooden egg cut-outs at Brenham City Hall between Monday, February 28th and Friday, March 18th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Completed eggs are due to be delivered to display locations Thursday, March 24th and Friday, March 25th by 5 p.m. Locations will be provided to each artist via email.
Voting will take place from Saturday, March 26th to Saturday, April 16th, with ballots available at participating sponsor locations and online. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, April 19th.
Finished eggs will also be up for auction during the art walk. Anyone can bid on an egg via a link on the website. Auction proceeds from each egg will be split 50/50 between the egg artist and Main Street Brenham, and are presented in addition to any prize money won.
