SOLID TURNOUT FOR WEEKEND EARLY VOTING; NO VOTING ON MONDAY FOR PRESIDENTS’ DAY

  

Over 200 people came to the Washington County Courthouse Annex over the weekend to vote early in the March primary election.

Election Administrator Carol Jackson said 138 voters – 124 Republicans and 14 Democrats – participated on Saturday.  Sunday saw 86 voters, made up of 76 Republicans and 10 Democrats.

The total for Saturday and Sunday’s voting was 224 people.

So far, 1,756 people have voted early in the election.  Jackson said, “It has been wonderful that people have taken advantage of the opportunities made available to them for voting.”

No early voting will be offered today (Monday) due to the Presidents’ Day holiday.  Early voting picks back up tomorrow (Tuesday), with extended hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow through Thursday.  Friday is the last day of early voting, with hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, March 1st.
