SCHOLARSHIPS BEING OFFERED FOR CONSTRUCTION SAFETY COURSE AT BLINN

  

Students wanting to enroll in Blinn College’s Basic Construction Safety course can now receive scholarship support.

Scholarship funding is available with the support of a $100,000 grant from the Wayne Duddlesten Foundation.

To be eligible, students must enroll in an Associate of Applied Science or workforce training program at Blinn, apply for the scholarship, and write a thank you letter after the scholarship has been awarded.

Blinn’s Basic Construction Safety Course, which is being offered at the A.W. Hodde Jr. Technical Center, runs March 22 through May 5.

It is a 64-hour course that meets Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights from 6-9pm.

The course includes an introduction to hand tools, power tools, construction math, construction drawings, and material handling along with basic communication and employability skills.
