TWO KILLED, TWO HOSPITALIZED AFTER CHASE LEADS TO CRASH NEAR SNOOK

  

Update @ 6:35 a.m. Thursday: Two people were killed and two others were injured after a DPS traffic stop in Snook Wednesday afternoon led to a chase that ended with a fatal crash.

According to a DPS report from Sergeant Justin Ruiz, the traffic stop on Main Street just after 1:15 p.m. led to a criminal investigation, which was ongoing when the driver fled from the scene onto County Road 269.

The 2007 BMW passenger car, driven by the suspect, evaded law enforcement until the driver lost control and struck a tree.

The driver and passenger were flown to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan with major injuries.  The two backseat passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS has not released any names or provided the reason for the traffic stop, citing an ongoing criminal investigation.

 

Original Story @ 4:50 p.m. Wednesday: Two people were killed and two others were injured after a single-vehicle crash this (Wednesday) afternoon in Burleson County.

DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz reports the accident happened around 1:30 p.m. on County Road 269 near Snook.

Details of how the accident occurred have not yet been released, but two back seat passengers in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.  Two others were flown to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan in unknown condition.

Investigation of the crash is ongoing.
