BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED ON ASSAULT CHARGES

A Brenham man was arrested Thursday on Assault charges.

Brenham Police report that Thursday at 7:30 AM, Officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Wood Ridge Blvd. in reference to an assault. A female victim was reported to have been assaulted and having visible injuries.

Investigation revealed a subject reported to be in a dating relationship with the victim struck the victim multiple times and strangled her to the point of losing consciousness. The victim was assaulted multiple times within a 24-hour period as they traveled to Houston. The suspect and victim returned to Brenham in a different vehicle that was discovered to have been stolen from the Spring Branch area. The stolen truck was recovered along with several tools and equipment believed to have been stolen somewhere between Brenham and Houston.

Based on details learned during the investigation, an Assault of a Family or Household Member by Impeding Breathe or circulation warrant was issued for the male suspect, identified as being Colby Alan Barham 26-year-old of Brenham. He was located at 12:45 PM in the 2400 block of Stone Hollow Drive by members of the Crime Reduction Unit and placed into custody.
