BURTON SCHOOL BOARD MEETING RESCHEDULED TO MARCH 28
Update @ 2:30 p.m. Monday: The Burton School Board meeting scheduled for this (Monday) evening has been postponed due to the forecast of inclement weather. It will be rescheduled for Monday, March 28th at 6 p.m.
Original Story @ 11:35 a.m. Saturday: The Burton School Board will vote to certify an unopposed race and cancel the May 7th election at its meeting Monday.
Incumbents Demetrius Colvin, Sr. and Jeff Harmel, who are serving as the board’s respective vice-president and secretary, were the only two candidates to file for their at-large trustee positions.
Also on Monday, trustees will consider several staff contracts, including for assistant principal, counselor and instructional coach. Contracts will also be discussed for the Burton Special Service Cooperative director and employees.
In other action, the board will vote on a school automobile purchase and take action on an amended interlocal participation agreement for the Texas Association of School Boards risk management fund.
The board will also hear monthly reports from the superintendent, principals and athletic director, and will hear an update on the facilities bond project.
The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the Burton High School Auditorium.
