BELLVILLE WOMAN CHARGED IN DEATH OF HUSBAND

  

A Bellville woman has been charged with murder in the shooting death of her husband.

56-year-old Kathy Elaine Maresh is in the Austin County Jail after her husband, 62-year-old Jimmy Dale Maresh, was found dead in their home in Bellville.

According to the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to the area of Sycamore Crossing and Highway 159 West regarding a welfare concern.

Deputies arrived and found Kathy Maresh, who they say was wandering around the area on foot.  According to the sheriff’s office, she told deputies she had shot her husband and that he was currently dead in their home in the 1500 block of South Tesch Street.  Deputies found the husband’s body inside the home.

On Wednesday, the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner performed an autopsy and determined Jimmy Maresh was killed by two gunshots to the upper torso.

Kathy Maresh is being held in jail on a $500,000 bond.
