WASHINGTON COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION WARNING RESIDENTS OF HIGH FIRE DANGER

The Washington County Firefighters Association is warning the public to be aware of the high fire danger this weekend.

With the return of low humidity and winds, it increases the fire risk for the area.  Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-80’s in the afternoons, with winds blowing at 10-15 miles per hour, and humidity values dropping into the low to mid 20’s.

Firefighters say with these conditions any dormant grasses will support ignition and carry through the green up.

They ask the public to do their part in preventing future fires.

If anyone is planning to do any outdoor burning, the Firefighters Association asks that you please contact Washington County Communications first at 979-277-7373.
