BLINN’S TELISHA BROWN NAMED SECOND TEAM ALL AMERICAN
Blinn College freshman guard Telisha Brown has been named an NJCAA Division I second-team All-American.
Brown, a 5-foot, 6-inch Houston product, was a key cog in the Buccaneers' historic campaign. She led the team with 13.6 points, 4.6 assists, and 27.5 minutes per game while shooting a team-high 42.2% from the floor.
"Telisha had a great season," head coach Jeff Jenkins said. "She led a very good team in scoring and assists, and I know her teammates are very proud of her."
The Buccaneers finished the season with a 28-5 record and a 14-4 mark in Region XIV. Blinn won its first regular-season region title after sharing the top spot with Trinity Valley, and entered the Region XIV Tournament as the No. 1 seed before capturing the tournament championship. The Buccaneers qualified for the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship tournament as the seventh seed before bowing out in the second round.
