ALVIN GETS 6-4 COMEBACK WIN OVER BLINN
The Blinn College baseball team was defeated in a Region XIV South tilt Thursday, falling 6-4 to No. 17 Alvin Community College in Alvin, Texas.
Starting pitcher Evan Aschenbeck gave Blinn a quality start, working 6 2/3 innings of three-run ball, but the Dolphins rallied against the Buccaneer bullpen to earn the win.
Aschenbeck allowed two earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
After Blinn rallied out of a 2-0 hole and grabbed a 3-2 edge, Alvin regained the lead, 4-3. The Bucs tied the game once more, but the Dolphins rallied to take the lead for good.
Luke Nail, Tripp Cromer, and Jett Garcia each drove in runs for Blinn.
The Buccaneers fell to 11-22 overall with a 7-12 region record. The Bucs and Dolphins continue their three-game series with a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fireman's Park in Brenham.
